ConferencesA major objective of the CAWQ is to promote the research and capabilities of people involved in water quality research in Canada. This is accomplished by hosting regional conferences each year in the three regional areas (Eastern, Central and Western) of Canada. No information on upcoming symposia is currently available. Typical themes of CAWQ conferences include:
Particular emphasis is placed on providing exposure of the talents, skills and work of students who have entered the water quality field. At each of these conferences, the presenter of the "best student presentation" is awarded the Philip H. Jones Award, which includes several honours and a cash prize.
